I got this request from Avon to review a list of books in my email one day, and this book, A Blood Seduction was among them.  Now, I have no idea on earth why I chose to pick an author I have never read before in a genre I was highly leary of. Since then it has sat on my Adobe Digital bookshelf for well over a month, deciding one day to clear some books off I read the first page, and then the next, the one after that one, and know.  Before you know it, I was well and truly hooked by Quinn Lennox and Arturo Mazza.
The writing is superb, the world that she build's(Vamp City) is a take no prisoner, no hold's bar fantasy land, and the character's are well fleshed out.
The first aspect of this book that got me in this story was the time travel element. I devoured time travel back when it was the craze in romance.  A Blood Seduction is a whole 'nother type of time travel where the other world is one where vampires, Slavas, shape shifting werewolves, and humans coexist.  Not peacefully, and not without bloodshed (the humans are the food after all).  But they do least for a time.  The second aspect was the relationship between Quinn and Arturo.  While Passionate and intense, it was not shall I say this? Romantic.  Which is fine for this story, which I can't believe I'm saying.  But it works.  The sex scenes are combustible, even when their skin accidentally touches, it's a hot moment.
There are a couple scenes in the book where you cringe at the depravity, the cruelty of the vamps towards the humans, but for the most part it all flows really nicely together.  The ending left you hanging like any good first book in a series should do, but now I'm on pins and needles waiting until December for the second book by Palmer.  Hopefully I'll get to read an ARC and I don't have to wait as long.
Below I have taken a summary off of the publisher's website so you guys can get a taste of just what I experienced:

Prepare to be seduced by the dark side!  The New York Times bestselling author of the Feral Warriors shape shifter series, Pamela Palmer now carries us into the perilous heart of Vamp City, where paranormal romance lovers will be helpless to resist the sensuous allure of A Blood Seduction. A world of eternal night is crumbling—a vampire haven called Vamp City—and one woman with extraordinary supernatural powers is the sole hope for the future…with the help of a shockingly handsome immortal who knows her secret. Paranormal romance readers’ thirst for sexy vampires remains unquenched—and every insatiable fan of Jeaniene Frost, Nalini Singh, and Lora Leigh is going to want to sink her teeth into A Blood Seduction.

Quinn Lennox is searching for a missing friend when she stumbles into a dark otherworld that only she can see—and finds herself at the mercy of Arturo Mazza, a dangerously handsome vampire whose wicked kiss will save her, enslave her, bewitch her, and betray her. What Arturo can't do is forget about her—any more than Quinn can control her own feelings for him. Neither one can let desire get in the way of their mission—his to save his people, hers to save herself. But there is no escape from desire in a city built for seduction, where passion flows hot and blood-red . . .

A little about the author

When Pamela Palmer's initial career goal of captaining starships didn't pan out, she turned to engineering, satisfying her desire for adventure with books and daydreams until finally succumbing to the need to create worlds of her own. Pamela lives and writes in the suburbs of Washington, D.C. with her husband and two kids.
