I don't know where to begin.
When I first saw Katherine's name on the cover I was skeptical since I had tried reading her previous books in vain. I just could not get into captains, ships, and the high seas. But I was pleasantly delighted...actually astounded that I could devour a book so readily. And thoroughly.
Kitty Savege and Leam Blackwood have a forbidden romance that is all too soon explosive and undeniable. One word. Intense. Meeting in alcoves and stealing kisses is only the beginning of a ridiculously enchanting read. Ashe creates characters (main and secondary) that will forever live on in readers hearts, honestly I could not credit this as a Katherine Ashe book if I had not seen her name on the cover; the writing is so different from her earlier works.
I was flabbergasted during the sex scenes, there were not that many to tell you the truth but in the end you really didn't care because there was enough sexual tension to last in between the volatile scenes. Ashe did a tremendous job of weaving together all the elements to make a successful fictional story come to life.
The plot really does take a back burner to the romance heating up the pages between Leam and Kitty, and the subplot relating to Leam's disastrous marriage and his brother's death all add to the whole to make When A Scot Loves a Lady truly Ashe's best yet.
I have bk 2 in this series already on my NetGalley bookshelf. I cannot wait to delve into another member of the Falcon Club's sordid life.
