Her freedom depends on one man. A criminal to his realm…
Outlawed Realm, Book 4

How
Avatar Inspired Stolen Desire…
I must confess, I’ve never been much of a sci-fi
fan. It’s always puzzled me how anyone can be a Trekkie. I’ve watched Stargate
(the TV series) a few times and just couldn’t get into it.
Then, I saw Avatar.
Wow. The world building in that film was like nothing I’d ever seen. More
importantly, I loved the romance between Jake and Neytiri. Her feisty attitude
made me smile. Their bantering was the best.
When I was planning my Outlawed Realm series (erotic
paranormal/sci-fi), I wanted to create worlds that gave readers a sense of
wonder, much like Pandora did for me. As I plotted the series, I decided that
everything would happen on Earth, but in different dimensions or realms. Five
to be exact, which are all populated and layered on top of each other. Like
this.
E1 (Earth as we know it) is the dimension closest to
the sun. Beneath it is E2, E3, and so on with E5 closest to the surface.
Because of time differentials between the dimensions, the inhabitants never see
the other realms, unless they move through connecting portals.
In Unending Desire, book
one, Nikoli is a scientist from E2, a place where emotion and love aren’t
allowed. All the men look the same. All the women resemble each other. It’s a world
where order has replaced passion. When he sees Regina through a portal and
realizes she’s in danger, he crosses over to Seattle (E1) to save her life. Illicit Desire, book
two, takes place on E4, a land of jungles and twilight. Here, the E2 rulers
have built the Pleasure Palace, populated by pleasure slaves. Young men and
women who were grown in artificial wombs. Their sole purpose to serve their
masters, until they’re eliminated. When two of them, Luzan and Arez, fall in
love, they’ll do anything to escape their fate. Book three, Shameless Desire,
takes place in Seattle. Kuma, a shifter from E4, has crossed over and risks
everything to save Gwen, a young nurse who’s in danger.
That brings us to Stolen Desire,
book four, that takes place on E5, a world of ice and fire. While I was
writing Stolen Desire, I had Avatar
in mind, its marvelous world building, wanting to create a place of wonder in
which Paige and Zekin could play out their stunning love.
