Lisa Madison wants a husband, and she has just the candidate in mind: Robert Langley. Trouble is, the infuriating man insists on seeing her as the impish girl she once was—even as every other gentleman in London has taken notice of her womanly…charms. When her beauty lands her in danger, it’s Robert who comes to the rescue…only to announce his affections are not of the romantic variety!

Robert saw enough sorrow in his parents’ union to know he wants nothing to do with marriage, which is exactly what he’ll be trapped into if he acts on his desire for the irksome siren. And then Lisa does what Robert least expects: gives up on him! As feigned indifference gives way, blistering passion burns at last. But just before the pair can give in to hard-won bliss, an enemy with unfinished business lurks threatening to destroy them both.

  What nice things can I say about this book?  Oh yes, while the plot was horribly contrived you really didn't care because you fell in love with the characters that the plot was sort of a background to the interactions of the heroine and hero as well as the secondary characters.
     I found myself saying 'he did what?!' hitting my head on the table in aggravation  as so and so thought it was alright to do such and such.  But then came those moments in between the saggy plotline where Lisa talked to Robert a certain way or where Robert perfomed admirably toward Lisa that had me sighing.
    Ok, so here are the details of the story;

Lisa Madison is drugged and kidnapped, about to be sold to a very unscrupulous lord with designs on her money.  Robert Langley is forced to rescue her yet again from a nasty scrap that she has gotten herself into just to get his attention.
     After years of trying to make Robert see her as a woman and not the little sister that he never had, Lisa decides to give up on him for good.  But of course Robert deserves one more chance to see what he is missing out on and so with the help of her two sisters, Lisa manages to wrangle Robert into a compromising situation,  But Lisa has second thoughts right until the very last moment and is almost caught in bed with the man she loves.
    Believing the best course of action is to give up on ever attaining his love, Lisa folds her cards and tries to move on, but you know that's just when a man decides to take interest.  So concocting the same plan, Robert tries to be caught naked in bed with Lisa but to no avail.  Lisa will not have him.
                  And of course we need Robert to find out who almost bought Lisa from her kidnapper, that angle of the story was quickly  disposed of so we could back to reading how Lisa and Robert were trying to be caught together so they could marry without having to reveal how very much they truly did love one another.

      I found myself rolling my eyes quite a few times and forcing my fingers to turn the pages.  I absolutely love Sands, but The Husband Hunt fell flat for me.
