Zoe Adams has always been content with her quiet nights at home, watching TV alone-until her life turns into a real-life episode of Unsolved Mystery Hunters. The story of a kidnapped girl triggers unexplained memories, and Zoe is dead-set on figuring out why. Her search leads her to one of the Lone Star State's richest families-and to sexy PI Tyler Lopez.

Tyler has sworn off women, especially redheads with killer curves who poke their noses into his clients' private lives. Still, he can't deny the attraction any more than he can deny that some of Zoe's crazy story makes sense. But when she becomes a hit man's target, this cold case starts heating up. Suddenly, Tyler will do anything to protect Zoe-even risk his heart.

 Special Guest Post

             1. With so many romance's set in the south for today's readers, what sets you apart from the other southern authors out there if anything?

CC:  First, a huge thank-you for having me here at Passionate Encounters.  Bloggers have a special place in publishing heaven.  Thanks for the support.  Now, to answer your question.

Hmm.  You’re absolutely right.  There are a lot of southern storytellers out there.  In fact, storytelling is as southern as fried chicken and sweet tea.  When I was growing up, if you couldn’t tell good story at my dinner table, you didn’t get to be heard.  And if a lie made that story better, it was not only okay, it was expected.  But what makes me different?  Well, I think I’m known for two things.  One is my down to earth characters.  Good-hearted people who aren’t flawless, but are still so darn lovable.   For example, take a look at my heroine, Zoe, in Blame it on Texas, who sometimes plows ahead before thinking things through.  Like when she sees a younger picture of herself on an Unsoloved Mysteries TV show that claims she was kidnapped as a child from a rich family in Texas.  The fact that they also stated that the child’s body was found did nothing to convince her that it wasn’t her.  She packed her bags and headed off to Texas to find answers.  Answers that may explain all the odd memories and nightmares she’s always had.  And then there’s Tyler, a private investigator who is determined to find the truth about Zoe Adams’ real identity.  Yes, he’s another slightly flawed character.  He suffers from a slight case of commitment phobia and tries to convince Zoe that they can and should use her three weeks in Texas to have a wonderful sexual affair and then just say good bye when she goes back to Alabama.

(I read this post before I started reading the book.  This got me so excited to read it!)

The second thing that I think sets me apart is probably my brand of humor.  Some people call it over the top, other’s call it potty humor.  I really don’t like the term potty humor.  I like to think of it as human humor.  And yes, some human humor takes place in the potty.  But I’m talking things all humans laugh about, but are hesitant to share with strangers.  When my characters invite my readers into their world, they treat them like a type of friend who gets to hear the embarrassing stuff, I think that’s part of the reason my readers bond with my characters.  Let’s face it, getting caught naked while jumping up and down on a bed, trying to keep your cat safe from an over-zealous English Bull dog, by your potential boyfriend and his two best friends, is not the kind of stuff you’d tell a stranger.  Things like doggy gas isn’t something you’d tell the person standing behind you in the grocery store line, but everyone who has ever had a dog, has experienced the little issue of doggy gas.  It makes us laugh.

Thanks again for inviting me here to your blog.  If your readers want to know more about me and my books, they can find information at my website, www.Christie-Craig.com.  For a little taste of my Hotter in Texas series, watch the video below.  I hope you enjoy!
